Mini-Split Heat Pumps, Save Energy, Save Money
Are you remodeling an older house, maybe adding a room? TriCounty Temp Control suggests that you consider a Ductless Mini-Split Heat Pump for your room addition. These units are an excellent choice for room additions, especially when it isn’t feasible to either extend the existing ductwork or to add new ductwork. The Ductless Mini-Split heat pump also makes a great retrofit add-on to those houses with “non-ducted” heating systems, such as radiant panels, space heaters (wood, kerosene or propane) or hydronic (hot water heat).

|
|
Save Energy! Mini-Splits have no ducts and therefore no energy loss associated with the ductwork of central forced air systems. Duct losses can account for more than 30% of energy consumption, especially if the ducts are in an unconditioned space such as an attic.

Mini Splits are Small and Flexible
Mini Splits are small and offer flexibility in the areas you heat and cool because one outside unit can accommodate as many as four indoor air handling units for four different zones or rooms. The number of units needed is based on varying factors such as your home’s insulation and the size of the area to be heated or cooled. Since each zone has its own thermostat, you have the ability to heat or cool a specific space instead of an entire area, saving energy and money.
Don’t wait until the cold winter chills gets to you!

Control Temperatures Room by Room
Ductless mini-split systems are often easier to install than other types of systems. For example, only a three inch hole is required for the conduit to hook-up between the outdoor and indoor units. Most manufacturers provide a variety of length of connecting conduit, which allows for a greater length between outdoor and indoor systems. Such flexibility can enable the outside unit to be placed in an inconspicuous place and still cool areas up to 50 feet away.
